Zion Canyon Visitor Center:
Open: Daily
Closed: December 25
Spring: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Summer: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Fall: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Winter: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Zion Canyon Visitor Center offers a wide variety of information and services year-round except Christmas Day. The following services are offered: backcountry permits, books, information, introductory video, maps and a museum. Phone: 1-435-772-3256.

Zion Human History Museum:

The Human History Museum is located one half mile north of the park’s south entrance on the main park road, or 11 miles west from the east entrance. A regular stop on the Zion Canyon Shuttle System from early March through November.

Zion National Park is open year round. The majority of park visitors come during Spring and Fall and are lowest in December through March. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Zion National Park has some fantastic rock structures and colors for some unbelievable scenic beauty. Activities to consider while here are but not limited to: backpacking, biking, camping, fishing, four wheeling, hiking, horseback rides, photography, river running, star gazing and watching wildlife.

Time

Standard and daylight saving – be aware of time changes as you travel throughout this region. Nevada is always one hour earlier than Utah. Utah and Nevada observe daylight saving time during the summer. Arizona stays on standard time the year round. Utah and Arizona are on the same time from late October to early April. From early April to late October, Arizona and Nevada are the same time, one hour earlier than Utah.

Junior Ranger Program

As in other National Parks, Zion has a Junior Ranger program from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is for children 6 to 12 years of age, and is held in the Zion Nature Center. The Junior Ranger Program really helps the youth get the most out of their visit to a National Park and to become involved as an official Junior Ranger and earn their patch.
